
That's also one of my beefs with TIA as a recent learner because it looks like the PLC and HMI are thought of as one project when in fact you can have the same PLC and a different HMI (and vice versa) among multiple projects. I can see how Siemens might have come to the conclusion that this is how it should work for designer control and plant propagation, but I am accustomed to working mostly on troubleshooting setups that have been well established, which makes having an editable file make a ton of sense, especially once the original designer (and their original file) have long been gone. As a regular Rockwell user before my current project, I have had to frustratedly deal with this fact the hard way.
